Monster Mash...

Hi everyone! As I'm typing this, the length on my nails is really irking me :| I'm a pretty loud typer, so I feel like I'm slamming down on the keys (I have a very quiet office). I was really planning on growing my nails out a bit more because I want to try and make them super-squared....let's just hope I don't have any chips/breaks.


For this mani I used:
-Thumb: Revlon Tangerine and WnW Black Creme
-Index: OPI Funkey Dunkey (I LOVE this purple)
-Middle: OPI Green-wich Village
-Ring: WnW Black Creme and OPI FD


I did 3 coats of Tangerine and Green-wich Village and just 2 of FD. Tangering was a bit thin, so in order for me to get full coverage I went with 3 coats. For my thumb I started with orange first then just brushed the black on. For the ring finger, I did the opposite; started with black then added the purple. This was one of the easiest manis I've done in a while since the "hair" didn't have to be perfect.

Bells really liked this mani, she wanted me to try and do it on her...but she won't stay still!!


Speaking of Bells...here she is a few weeks ago when I took her to the pumpkin patch.

Creepy Candy Corn

Who doesn't love candy corn?!? It's so yummy! I never seem to be able to find any holiday collections at my local drug stores EVER, so I kinda stopped looking. This year must be my lucky year, I have found them at both Walgreens and CVS. YAY!!

I picked 2 WnW Fantasy Makers: Creepy Pumpkin and Black Magic. They also had Purple Potion, but I read that it looks alot like Night Prowl, so I passed on it.

This is the first one I have tried so far and I LOVE it! It an orange jelly with tiny gold, orange, and irridescent glitter. It was a little thick when I first applied it, so I just added a few drops of thinner and it was good to go! In the first set of pics (with the candy corn), I'm wearing two coats of CP, so there is still a VNL. In the ones by itself, I added a third coat and it was completely opaque. It is a little gritty, but one coat of SV smooths it all out. This is a great deal for $2 and how cute are these little tombstones!?!

I decided to try and do some candy corn inspired art. I used WnW French White Creme and OPI The "It" Color to complete it

Artsy Monday: Hot Pink and Orange Leopard

Happy Monday everyone! I totally got off track this weekend in posting things. So this is my late Artsy Thursday post.

I started off with Rimmel Sunset Orange and Confetti Not Your Mother's Pink. I actually like the way this looks plain. I looked everywhere for Sunset Orange, and finally found it at Ulta.

I used Konad M57 and the Konad Special Black polish. I really need to remember to use lint free pads when using Konad. A few strands of lint got stuck to the plate, so when I stamped, the image smeared a bit. I tried to Photoshop it as best I could. But you can still see some of the smears. :( I filled the holes in the leopard print with alterating colors. I think maybe next time I'll use lighter shades for the spots so they show better.

OPI Texas

Ok, so I have to admit that the one of the few reasons I even looked at these was of course because I'm a Texan and I was hoping these colors would live up to this great I think this state is:) This is a display of the full collection:

I ended up getting 3: Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear? (described as Texan tangerine), Guy Meets Gal-veston (described as 'engaging' coral), and Austin-tatious Turquoise (described as Bodacious blue-green).

Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear?
I actually reallllllyy like this color. I was really curious to see what this whole "sorbet" finish was about or if it was just a fancy name for "jelly". In my opinion, it's a bit different. The jellies that I've tried tend to have a more opaque finish to them. This one doesnt. Every coat was pretty shiny. I ultimately like this one with 3 coats, the color seems alot richer to me. 2 coats would work just fine though. This was by far my favorite of the 3.

Guy Meets Gal-veston:
This is the perfect color for summer. I had been looking for a salmony-coral color for a while now and this is just what I had been looking for. A little sheer though, I guess that's the whole sorbet-thing for ya'. 3 coats here and no VNL.

Austin-tacious Turquoise:
I like this color in this picture, but it was a PITA to apply...so I was a little underwhelmed with this. It's pretty sheer for a shimmer polish; which was a big surprise since most shimmers are usually one-coaters. After the first 2 coats there was still a VNL, so I applied a third. Bad idea! It started pulling the other coats :( The end product is nice....but I'm not too sure it was totally worth it. I will brave this again when the weather is warmer and maybe I'll have a better experience then. I will keep you updated.

All in all...from what I could tell, this collection is pretty cool. There are still a few colors that caught my eye...so ya' never know.
