You Don't Know Extra-Va-Vaganza

Hey everyone!! Today I'm going for a more subtle "Halloween" mani. Ok..this is more of a fall mani :) This is OPI You Don't Know Jacques. YDKJ is a taupe-y brown (not gray based like alot of other taupes) creme. This kind of reminds me of a mix between Essie Mink Muffs and Hard Candy Mushroom. It's not as red as MM, but not as brown as Mushroom; good combination. I actually hard to use 3 coats, I had alot of "bald spots" with 2 coats for some reason.

The accent nail is Extra-Va-Vanganza from the Burlesque collection. The whole glitter line from this is pure genious. I love them all!! It's mosly a silver and orange glitter in a clear base, but if you look really closely...there is pink and green glitter too. 3 coats of this (and a few more on TC...it ate it up like crazy!). This is a nice way to spice up a "mom mani"

When I don't know what to wear, a combination like this is alway my go-to choice. I feel like I can't go wrong with something like this.

What's your "safest" color combo??

Sally Hansen always has me going on Mystic treasure hunts!

Hi everyone! I have missed being here, life has been pretty hectic lately! If you wanna read what I have been up to, you can check out My So Called Un-Life. On to more important things (like the nails!!)...

I first got into nail polish maybe about a year ago...there are just sooo many reasons to love nails and everything you can do with them. I remember when making my first "lemming" list and searching EVERYWHERE for certain colors. Somewhere at the top of my list was Sally Hansen Mystic Lilac. I must have gone to every drug store in my area looking for it and NOTHING! So heartbreaking!! Then...one rainy day I stopped at a random Walgreens and what do I see in the clearance jar.....MYSTIC LILAC! I remember thinking "SUCKERSSS...Ya'll don't know how precious this is!" I hoped to find a backup so I asked around, but no such luck. I guess I was meant to take just one bottle home. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, it ended up in my untrieds for a year. Yes, a whole year!! :(

This past weekend I sat down for my weekly mani/pedi and wasn't feeling any color, so I decided to purge with a nude/taupe. A few choices later and still...nothing. Until ML caught my eye....how could I have forgotten you for so long???

My nails are still pretty short (I have learned that I am a stress nail-biter)...but oh how I love the color!!

From Sally Hansen's Fall 2010 collection, ML is a grayed-out lilac taupe with grayish almost-green micro shimmer. I applied it at night, so when I took pictures I was a little dissapointed at how un-lilac it pulled on me, since it looked nothing like the bottle color. I still loved the color, though...

Look at that micro-shimmer!!

The next day I went outside and fell in love even more with this color. I think it's taupe-y enough that you can wear it to work, but still edgy enough that it's not meh...

I wonder what happened to all the bottles of ML?? It seems like there are never enough of these awesome colors....Sally Hansen, why do you do this to us???

I missed you all so much!! It's great to be back. I have some really neat (wait, did I just use that word??) things planned out for all the upcoming events/holidays. I can't wait to share them with ya'll!!

All Hail the Queen!

Good morning everyone! How was yall's weekend?

Well, we're STILL with the remodel at home! RR1 is almost done. I'm hoping the sinks will be installed today and my bath fixtures so I can finally bathe at home (I've been going to my mom's house to shower). RR2 is completely demo'ed out, so the only thing working there is the toilet. I'm giving them until the 27th (Bella's birthday) to be done! Speaking of...I will have to find a new place to take NOTDs. These (and 99% of my pics) were taken on top of my sink up against a mirror, both of which are gone :(

Digging in the vault again I found Butter London All Hail the Queen. Ahh...this one was hard to find! I had been eyeing it for a while now, but with all the Royal Wedding madness, it was always sold out. Ulta FINALLY started carrying this, so I snatched it up as quickly as I saw it. It reminds me of China Glaze Cyberspace, only the holo is a bit warmer. (I'll have to do a side/side comp). I actually wore this on my toes and LOVED it, it went with everything!

I wanted to try Henley Regatta, but I'm afraid with my nails as short as they are now that the glitter is going to get everywhere. I will wait. Impatiently.

Happy Monday everyone!!!
