Snow White Mani

Today Bella has her Halloween/Fall Dress-up Day and Festival at school. I'm pretty bummed I don't get to see her until the afternoon :( They asked all the kids to dress up as their favorite book character, so she wanted to be Snow White. That worked out PERFECT for me because we just recycled her costume from last year and I still get to see her in this year's costume on Halloween :) This is our first actual school function, so I decided to do a Snow White mani to show my support, haha!!

I decided to do an apple accent on my ring finger and a crown (to represent the Evil Queen) on my thumb.

Here are the colors I used:
-Thumb: 10 Pinky Promise w/OPI Glitzerland & ChG Medallion accent
-Index: Zoya Sooki (2 coats)
-Middle: MAC Spirit of Truth (2 coats)
-Ring: SH Red Carpet, OPI YDKJ & Green-wich Village
-Pinky: OPI The "It" Color (3 coats)

I rarely show my right hand since I have a hard time drawing decent accents with my left. But here is my left just had to get into the action :)

I did an apple accent on my right thumb and WnW Black Creme with a bow Konaded (is that even a word??) with BL Knees Up (I can't wait to do a full mani with this!!) to represent Snow White's hair/bow.

Bells loved this mani so I did her nails too!!
I LOVE these fat little fingers SOOO much!!!

This was Bells last year. Hopefully I can get a good picture of her today :)

She even had a matching apple candy bag
These little felt candy bags are super easy to make. I made her one for her costume this year. Check out my tutorial HERE if you want to learn how to make these :)

Hello Spring! The chikie has hatched...

I spent all weekend watching Sons of Anarchy. How awesome is that show? We sat around and did NOTHING and it was awesome. We did plant these little palm trees and the weather was soooo pretty this weekend. SH left on Sunday, so after Bella went to bed, I did a few swatches. I actually did not do a polish change all weekend! I haven't done that in a while (weekends are usually when I try out designs that have been in my head all week). I have however been wanting to do a baby chick nail, so here it is:

I originally planned to use OPI The "It" Color, but I've used in a few of my manis and this was still untried. I'm not too crazy with this color. It pictured really nice, but looked NOTHING like this IRL! I think this is more suited for a fair skinned person. I'm too olive for this and my hands looked extra burnt :) It was really streaky; but after 3 coats, it was completely opaque. The drying time was really fast though...and how cute is that bottle!?!?! The white was done with Scotch tape and the rest with a dotting tool. For the eyes I used WnW Black Creme and the beak is Revlon Mad About Mango. I can't wait for Easter, I got Bella her Easter basket and dress. I think she's big enough for a real egg hunt this year, so that's pretty exciting.

Are you ready for Easter? What are your plans??

Spring is On It's Way

We had the most perfect weather all weekend! Mid 70's and clear skies. How can I not be inspired? Nothing says Spring is here like the birds and the bees :)

For this mani I used OPI The "It" Color. It's a bit sheer, so this is 3 coats. Not the easiest color to work with, but totally worth it in the end; it reminds me of egg-yolks :)

A while back I ordered some heart rhinestones, pearls, and a set of dotting tools from BornPretty and they FINALLY came in. I couldn't wait to use the dotting tool. This was the smallest dot. I used BM20 to stamp my thumb with Konad Polish. I was going to do my whole nail, but I'm a bit hung over so I did not have the patience to tape it off or try and restamp my thumb. Plus, I think the off angle shows off my lil' bee's stinger more :) The black dots were done with WnW Black Creme and the daisies were dotted with WnW French White Creme. The flowers were really easy to do, just one center dot followed by dotting the petals. Since the polish was still wet, the rhinestone went on without the need for the usual clear polish to make it adhere. I applied a coat of SV to seal all the colors in. In total this took about 30 minutes (3 coats take a while to dry)

I REALLY hope the weather stays this way for a while. DH is coming home this week so I hope we can enjoy some quality outdoor time with Bella before it gets too hot. (Houston weather is brutal in the summer).

Thanks for looking:)
