Orly Fowl Play

I have tried to majorly cut back on my polish purchases lately..and so far, I've been doing pretty good. I've gotten a few, but only of colors I REALLY like. This past weekend I stopped by Ulta for some hair products and I saw this. It's gotten lots of hype on MUA and after I saw it for myself, I picked it up. Fowl Play is from Orly's new Birds of a Feather collection. This is really the only color that grabbed my attention, so I passed on the rest.

Fowl Play is a red-tinted purple jelly (it reminds me of the color of grape slushes) with red flakies and purple, red, green, and gold micro glitter. The formula seemed a bit thick so I put a few drops of thinner. It was completely opaque with 2 coats. Unfortunately, I think I applied them a bit too thick, so I had some shrinking....BOO SV!!

Besides the shrinking...I like this color. I don't love it...but....I really like it.I keep looking at my nails trying to figure out why I don't absolutely love it, but I can't figure it out. This fall is a great season for new colors, and maybe the fact that there are so many choices is why I'm not wowed with this. I will definitely wear this again though :)

Cult Nails In a Trance

Fall is definitely when the best colors come out! Especially colors that favor my skin complexion....not too dark like winter/vampy colors and not too light like spring/bright colors. Just perfect!!

Last month, All Lacquered Up posted that one of this fall's trends would be military greens...SCORE for me!! I love olive/military greens. They're so versatile that you can get away with wearing them with just about anything. From her post, the one that caught my attention the most was Cult Nails (CultNails.com) In a Trance. It's a brownish olive green with gold (and if you look very closely, pink and green) shimmer. I absolutely love EVERYTHING about this polish. The bottle is great, the brush was easy to work with. The formula was nice and creamy. The application was flawless, 2 coats and it was completely opaque. I am in LOVE!

What's your favorite fall color???

Creepy Candy Corn

Who doesn't love candy corn?!? It's so yummy! I never seem to be able to find any holiday collections at my local drug stores EVER, so I kinda stopped looking. This year must be my lucky year, I have found them at both Walgreens and CVS. YAY!!

I picked 2 WnW Fantasy Makers: Creepy Pumpkin and Black Magic. They also had Purple Potion, but I read that it looks alot like Night Prowl, so I passed on it.

This is the first one I have tried so far and I LOVE it! It an orange jelly with tiny gold, orange, and irridescent glitter. It was a little thick when I first applied it, so I just added a few drops of thinner and it was good to go! In the first set of pics (with the candy corn), I'm wearing two coats of CP, so there is still a VNL. In the ones by itself, I added a third coat and it was completely opaque. It is a little gritty, but one coat of SV smooths it all out. This is a great deal for $2 and how cute are these little tombstones!?!

I decided to try and do some candy corn inspired art. I used WnW French White Creme and OPI The "It" Color to complete it

Sorry, I went a little picture crazy.....

Here is Creepy Pumpkin by itself. Look how pretty it is...

Icing Blackout

So when I posted the Dia de Los Muertos mani, my favorite nail was actually my ring finger. So simple, yet it made such a statement. I got this little beauty in a swap earlier this year and I hadn't tried it yet. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!?!? It's sooo pretty!!

Icing Blackout is a black jelly with tiny holo glitter. I wanted it completetely opaque, but read that you needed at least 3 coats to achieve that, so I just applied WnW Black Creme underneath instead. As you can see, it's really tricky to apply...cleanup was a bia!! (And it's still under my nails, ugh!!)

Black nails are just so chic to me, and this is a great way to spice it up...and perfect for Halloween!!

OPI Russian Navy Suede

Having an olive skin complexion can be kind of tricky when it comes to alot of colors....there are some you can't pull off AT ALL. Buuuut...there are others than you can absolutely wear and get away with, one of those is blue. Blues is my friend! Last year I was so into China Glaze Little Drummer Boy and had been looking for another blue in the same family to use as my go-to color this upcoming winter. I found it!! OPI Russian Navy Suede is just so pretty.

It's a matte navy blue with silver and purple flecks. I saw it a while back and picked it up at Ulta a few months back. I'm in serious purging mode and after shaking it for a good 10 minutes it was good to go.

Artificial Light/No Flash

Artificial Light/Flash
As much as I love this color, I'm just not a huge fan of mattes. I HAD to add some shine!!

It's sooo pretty....ahh I love those blues!
